Flower wedding dresses – they are true!

Wedding dresses either being embellished with multiple layered organza flowers or floral lines sketched by crystals or pearls, they will give us some poetic natural feelings.

But what about dresses made with true flowers? This may sounds impractical. But Zita Elze, a horticultural artist from UK, make it come true.

Zita Elze was born in Brazil and went to UK to study horticultural design and upholstery design.

Zita Elze stitched cream-colored, light pink and peak green flowers and leeves onto the satins and these were the upper parts of the wedding dresses. As for the skirts of those dresses, they were made to be trains of feather and organza.

Zita Elze said the flowers and leeves that she had chosen were very soft and they felt like furs. “I would like to make floral wedding dresses that can be worn on your body, rather than ones could only be displayed in the show window.”

Besides flower wedding dresses, Zita also made other accessories set with flowers, such as bridal handbags, bumbersoll and etc.

Hello Kitty Wedding Dresses

hello-kitty-wedding-gown

Apparently, someone on Etsy was offering to make handmade replicas of the Hello Kitty wedding dresses for brides who can’t get their hands on one all the way in Japan. It seems like she took her Etsy site down because we can’t find it anymore. Anyhow, we did some poking around the Internet and apparently, Sanrio has four more Hello Kitty wedding dress designs, though none of them are nearly as intricate as the pink one.

The white Hello Kitty wedding dress is probably the most simple of the bunch and the only one that resembles a traditional white wedding gown.

This wedding dress has a kind of bar wench look on the sleeves and neckline. The cotton fabric makes the dress look really informal and it’d look cute as a costume but not as a wedding dress.

This red velvet Hello Kitty wedding dress was rich in red and is well designed overall. It was probably designed for colder climes and not for the tropical heat of the Philippines.

The pale blue shade of this wedding dress may remind people a lot of Barbie for some reason!

Vintage lace wedding dresses could either be hated or loved. Most people like a traditional look with laces while others like a modern chic design. Lace brings a sense of romanticism and classism to the wedding dress. However, you can still make it creative with modern details such as beading, fabric structure and volume. Most of the lace gowns are expensive compared to other wedding dresses. But it also depends on the type of lace used in the creation. An intricate design for lace will add an additional cost to the wedding garments. For example, a French lace is very fine and light. It is the perfect choice for the wedding dress bodice.

Lace is getting more attention in fashion world recently. If you want your wedding dress to look charming, romantic and sophisticated, consider getting one of the vintage lace wedding dresses. It will be a perfect garment for your special occasion. Nevertheless, do not be too lacey on the dress. Queen Victoria’s wedding gown

Historically, brides did not all wear white wedding dresses. But why do modern brides wear white dresses nowadays? Then we must mention the most important person who is Queen Victoria.

Queen Victoria’s wedding gown

Queen Victoria’s wedding gown

In 1840 Queen Victoria married her first cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The wedding was of course a momentous occasion, both politically and in terms of fashion. The bride wore a gown of rich white satin, trimmed with white lace matching her veil, and a crown of orange blossoms. The only spot of color was the beautiful sapphire brooch Albert had given her as a wedding present.

At Victoria’s times, royal brides in England and other European countries wore cloth of gold and silver, but Victoria break with tradition and wear a white dress.

Since Victoria was not an ordinary bride, she needed to make a statement as the leader of her country, not as an ornament to the throne and the future mother to the heir to the throne. So Victoria chose a dress that made a political statement. A dress put her duty to her kingdom on display, rather than her wealth or beauty.

But it was not until the 1850s and 1860s that the trends that Queen Victoria had initiated became widespread for brides. The high profile marriages of other British royal brides, such as Victoria’s daughter, Victoria the Princess Royal, and her daughter in law, Alexandra of Denmark, who both followed the traditions set by Victoria, helped to further conventionalize white wedding dresses.
